Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. The current version of Yaqin has no account, sign-up or login. You can start using it as soon as you open it.
Do I need an internet connection?
The counter, history, tasbih, prayer times and qibla all work offline. Only nearby mosques and the map need the internet.
How do the watch and phone sync?
Apple Watch syncs directly with iPhone through Apple's device-to-device connection; our servers are not involved. The watch keeps counting when your phone isn't nearby and transfers records once they reconnect.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your phone and watch. Your dhikr history, favorites, custom dhikrs and intention are never sent to us.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
On your old phone, create a file with Settings › Data & privacy › Export data. On the new phone, choose that file with Import data in the same section.
Why does the app ask for location?
For the qibla direction and location-based prayer reminders. It is optional — choosing a city is enough for prayer times. Your location is never sent to our servers.
Prayer times differ from the official calendar.
Times are calculated astronomically on your device and may differ by a few minutes from local official calendars. Please rely on your local official calendar for worship times.
I can't feel the vibration.
Check that “Vibrate on every count” is on under Settings › Haptics and set the level to Pronounced. On the watch, make sure haptic alerts are on under Settings › Sounds & Haptics.
Where do dhikr meanings and sources come from?
Texts are shown only after content experts approve them; unapproved information is not displayed. See the Religious Content Notice for details.
When will the Wear OS app be released?
The Wear OS app is in development. We will announce it on this site when it's released.
How do I delete my data?
On your phone, go to Settings › Data & privacy › Delete all data on this device. Uninstalling the app also deletes all data.
Is Yaqin paid?
The current version of Yaqin is free and contains no ads.
